On March 1, 2018, the Columbus YLD held a Happy Hour downtown at 11th and Bay Southern Table. Wade Cleaners, a local dry-cleaning company, graciously sponsored the event. At the gathering, members greeted newcomers, and all attendees were excited to have the chance to spend time with the two judges who joined. These quarterly social events offer the young lawyers of Columbus a wonderful opportunity to meet each other and cultivate professional relationships across an array of practice areas. The next Happy Hour is scheduled to be in May at the Country Club of Columbus.
In the coming weeks, members are looking forward to a number of community events on the calendar as well. The Columbus chapter plans to arrange for volunteers to grade submissions in the annual Law Day essay contest, the winner of which will be announced at the city-wide luncheon. Additionally, with the Legal Food Frenzy just around the corner, collection box locations are being organized and publicized for member participation.
