The Savannah Young Lawyers Division had itself another busy summer. Over a two week period in April and May, members participated in the annual Law Day, visiting local public schools and participating in classroom discussions on the importance of the Magna Carta to the modern American legal system.
In June, the Savannah YLD held its signature event; the Eleventh Annual Savannah Guardian Ad Litem Charity Golf Tournament. Congratulations to the winning team led by Bryan Schivera. Bar members and local business joined to raise thousands of dollars for the Guardian Ad Litem Program.
The YLD also hosted its third annual gathering in Forsyth Park to coincide with the Savannah College of Art and Design’s annual commencement concert. Members and their guests enjoyed an evening of great music in Savannah’s historic park.
In July the Savannah YLD again hosted an alumni happy hour at El Rocko. The event was graciously sponsored by Collision Specialist Inc. (CSI) and highlighted by a high turnout, cocktails, and conversations. The event was attended by Savannah attorneys of all ages and served as an opportunity for younger and older lawyers to socialize and share thoughts on their practices and the community.
The Savannah YLD also held a kickoff party to welcome all new attorneys to the area and to begin the new membership year. It was hosted at the Congress Street Social Club on September 22, at 5:30 p.m. For more information about Savannah YLD events or to become a member, please contact Bobo Mullens at firstname.lastname@example.org.
