The Cobb County Young Lawyers Division continued its volunteer efforts in the community with our 1st Annual Summer Habitat for Humanity build. The event could not have happened without the leadership of our Community Outreach Director, Chris Cahill, and President-Elect, Adam Rozen. We had such a successful turnout that we are in works with Habitat for Humanity for a second build to take place in the fall or winter. In addition to the Habitat projects, the Cobb YLD is focusing on mentoring the youth of Cobb County with its continued support of “From the Court to Classroom Project” during the fall semester with our members volunteering to support local elementary schools’ involvement with mock trial competitions. The program has been popular thanks to various judges in the Cobb Judiciary. Finally, the Cobb YLD will support the Cobb County Legal Aid by co-sponsoring and volunteering for Justice Jam 2016, which will feature some of the most musically inclined attorneys in the Cobb County area. Our next meeting is September 20, 2016, at Taco Mac at Cumberland where we will welcome newly elected local judges, so come out and join us for networking and socializing!
